Silver Falls, Oregon
July 19-20, 2008
Silver Falls State Park is east of Salem, just under two hours from Eugene. It's hard to get a site in the crowded campground (reservations recommended), and the trails are very populated, but it's a beautiful area. There's a hiking loop to view more than 10 waterfalls, but dogs are allowed only on the North Falls hike.

We may go back for a day hike sometime without Bailey, or try camping again in the fall when crowds are lower. With all the people, it did feel a little like camping in Disneyland!
The next day we stopped at nearby Silverton for lunch -- a very sweet, artistic town with lots of
historic buildings.
