Umpqua Lighthouse
October 17-19, 2008
One rather gray weekend in October, we decided to join our friends, Marty and Delane, for one last camping weekend of the season. We met Friday night at the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park. A very nice campground with spacious sites and hot showers.
Marty and Delane have a T@b camper, which is a modern version of the teardrop trailer. Nearly twice the size of ours, it has a bedroom you can actually stand up and get dressed in, a built-in potty, and a nice kitchenette with a sink, stove, and cabinets.
We stayed through Sunday and enjoyed some nice sun breaks, hiking around the adjacent lake, walking to the beach and over the sand dunes, checking out the lighthouse. A perfect weekend to cap off an incredible season of teardrop camping.
